[Tip] Sybase Central: connection profiles

by David Workman
Data Mosaic

Just found this jem recently. I use Sybase Central to connect to Sybase databases on several different machines in my office as well as on an Xserve at a remote hosting location. As we are starting to pile up a healthy number of clients on the Xserve, it was getting annoying typing in all the various and sundry connection parameters.

It just so happens that you can save all of your connection parameters in "connection profiles." It's under the tools menu of Sybase Central. Once a profile is created and saved, just go there and click on it and you're done. You can also choose one of the profiles to trigger when Sybase Central starts up.

Makes me wonder what other goodies Sybase Central has to offer that I've overlooked all this time!
