[News] Announcing Mosaic Frameworks for Servoy
by David Workman,
Data Mosaic
Mosaic Frameworks for Servoy
The Mosaic Frameworks for Servoy is the culmination of three years of development on our internal tools used for client projects. Several months ago we undertook to completely rewrite these tools in Servoy 3.5.1 for public release.
Currently in our last week of exhaustive beta testing, we invite you to preview a tool that will save you 100's of hours developing business applications with Servoy. This is because Mosaic Frameworks for Servoy is in fact a complete business applicationwith just your specific business workflow screens missing.
We will be holding live online web previews each day of Servoy World at 12pm EST (6pm Amsterdam time). All are welcome and everyone can participate and ask questions.

FRAMEWORKS is great! Servoy is like a good menu at a good restaurant (prepping you for Servoy World): there are many options. The challenge is knowing how to effectively blend the Servoy tool sets, architecture (and underlying assumptions and paradigms), documentation and forum knowledge into something that is not only tasteful but well engineered and scalable. Our industry calls this "best practices". FRAMEWORKS brings together and distills many years of programming, GUI design and in-depth understanding of what-makes-Servoy-tick. Data Mosaic brings these skill sets to the table.
Personally, it has greatly helped my learning curve in Servoy as well as answer many questions I have had. The cutover from other development environments is greatly facilitated with FRAMEWORKS.
Highly recommended not only for early-phase review (beta participation) but also as a foundation for your future Servoy Solutions!

From a developer's standpoint, the FRAMEWORKS project is extremely exciting. It will allow us to fully leverage Servoy's modular approach in several key areas, instead of constantly having to 're-invent the wheel'. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into this initiative, as can be seen by the many useful guidelines and 'best practices' being put forward by David and Troy with this project. Their experience and direction is a great asset, and I have learned a lot already just by being involved with the program. The innovations and 'outside-the-box' thinking gained as a result will make the FRAMEWORKS an invaluable part of any Servoy developer's toolbox. The benefits for end-users will be tremendous, both in terms of functionality and savings. As an early beta-tester, I consider myself honoured and privileged to be a part of this effort and to be able to contribute to it, and I look forward to what the future holds for what is sure to be a great time-saver.

FRAMEWORKS is a supercharger for Servoy RAD! Using the FRAMEWORKS has allowed me to demonstrate potential web client applications to my clients on the fly. Never before has RAD been supercharged like this. As a new comer to Servoy I was enthralled by the RAD and the ease of use. Now with FRAMEWORKS I can create a custom solution for my clients as well as modify the layout in front of them and allow the client to become involved in the design. The payback, or ROI, is at least a 100-fold in time saved. Now I do not have to spend hours designing multiple forms and even more hours testing and doing "defect removal". The gems inside FRAMEWORKS that enable the customizing of the universal list with formatted columns with minimal effort is a monumental leap ahead in RAD methodologies involving the customer . I can't wait for their module for logon access/security and record level security to be released. Way to go guys at Data Mosaic.
